Missy Garska maintains a general business law practice with a focus on commercial lending, commercial real estate and commercial leasing.
Missy has experience in private and commercial lending transactions, representing both borrowers and lenders, including banking institutions and private lenders. Her financing practice includes real estate construction and term financing, and corporate financing.
In her commercial real estate practice, Missy assists clients throughout the development process, working with developers, builders and purchasers on matters ranging from subdivisions and lot sales to commercial leasing. She has negotiated leases for landlords, including Crown corporations, ensuring agreements meet both commercial and regulatory requirements. Missy also works closely with surveyors on development projects to ensure municipal compliance, proactively addressing regulatory challenges to minimize delays and risks.
Missy is also experienced in drafting a wide range of contracts, including purchase agreements, condominium disclosure packages and unanimous shareholder agreements.
Missy is passionate about her community, both legal and local. As such, she coaches the University of Alberta Davies Corporate/Securities Moot team, serves on the board of the Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF), and contributes to the Sponsorship Committee of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) in Edmonton.
Prior to joining Witten, Missy practised at a regional law firm, where she developed her skills in various business law areas.
