The Wills and Estates Paralegal will have start to finish experience in Estate Planning and Estate Administration. This role also provides support to one of Witten’s Corporate/Commercial practices.
The main responsibilities for this role include:
- preparing correspondence, drafting Wills, Enduring Power of Attorneys, and Personal Directives, and preparing and managing Surrogate grant applications
- completing service and filings at Surrogate Court
- communicating with and assisting executors, beneficiaries, accountants, and various government agencies.
- manage the estate file progress to completion.
- drafting miscellaneous corporate/commercial documents as necessary and assisting with other solicitor-based legal tasks such as real estate and corporate commercial matters
- assisting with general administrative matters, such as preparing retainer letters and accounts, file openings, closings and organization, invoicing, scheduling client appointment, and other administrative tasks as may be required.
The successful candidate must be detail oriented, a self-starter, accurate and have exceptional multi-tasking, communication, and organization skills. Advanced Word and experience with document production and management systems are an asset.
